Asian Games 2026 Day 6: Roshibina Wins Silver as India Reaches 14 Medals

India continued its medal-winning campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Day 6, adding two more medals to its tally on September 24.

Roshibina Devi won silver in women's Sanda 60kg, while Satnam Singh and Salman Khan secured bronze in men's double sculls rowing.

With these results, India's overall tally reached 14 medals — 1 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.

Roshibina Devi Wins Silver in Wushu

The first major medal for India on Day 6 came from Naorem Roshibina Devi in women's Sanda 60kg.

Roshibina reached the final after a strong run through the competition but was defeated by China's Zhang Xiaoyu in the gold-medal bout.

Zhang won the final 2–0, with both rounds ending 5–0 in her favour.

Roshibina therefore finished with the silver medal, continuing her remarkable record at the Asian Games.

The medal is her third consecutive Asian Games medal. She previously won bronze at Jakarta 2018 and silver at Hangzhou 2023.

Her latest silver also means Roshibina has now won silver at two consecutive Asian Games.

Satnam Singh and Salman Khan Win Rowing Bronze

India added another medal in rowing as Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finished third in the men's double sculls final.

The Indian pair clocked 6:13.25 to secure the bronze medal.

India remained among the leading boats for much of the race, holding second place at the 500m, 1000m and 1500m marks before finishing third.

China won gold, while Uzbekistan took silver.

The result gave India another medal in rowing and took the country's overall tally to 14.

Balraj Panwar Finishes Fourth

There was also a near-miss for India in the men's single sculls.

Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the final after being in medal contention for much of the race.

Although he narrowly missed the podium, Panwar's performance remains an important result for Indian rowing at these Games.

India's Badminton Team Wins Bronze

India's men's badminton team also secured a medal during the ongoing Asian Games campaign.

India lost 3–1 to China in the semifinal, meaning the team finished with a bronze medal.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty registered India's only win in the semifinal, while the other ties went China's way.

India had earlier defeated Japan 3–0 in the quarterfinal, assuring itself of a podium finish.

The men's badminton bronze adds another medal to India's growing tally.
